Old Business:

-Treasurer’s Report: $1,271.66

-Secretary’s report of discussion from previous meeting, and re-discussion of topics.

New Business:

-The Butler Guards attended a living history event in Abbeville in early December.  It has been a smaller event with a large purpose of recruiting. However, Mike Looper brought up to the unit that the event may hold a battle in the future years, possibly even on different property.  Mike will find more information, and report back to the Butlers.

-The next gun show at the Palmetto Expo Center is the weekend of December 16-17.  The Butler Guards are planning to attend, with the purpose of recruiting.  The officials of Confederate Museum in Greenville also plan to attend and hold a separate booth.

-A living history will take place in Columbia on February 17, 2007.  This is the same weekend as the Battle for Columbia.  However, the two are separate.  Discussion was made whether the Butlers should attend the living history, the Battle for Columbia, or try and do both.  This will be decided at a later meeting.  The living history is to have a battle, where the Confederates surrender the city to Sherman.

-The preliminary reading of the script for the Manse Jolly movie, being created in Anderson, will be February 24, 2007.  Some of the Butlers would like to take part in the film, and are planning to attend.

-There is a yearly event in Statesville, NC, called Allison’s Woods.  Discussion was made whether the Butlers should plan to attend next year or not.  With Sharpsburg the same month of September, many believe it will be hard to do both.  Mike Looper will find out info on the event and report back.
