Old Business:
-
-The Butlers attended Brattonsville in October.
Everyone loved the event, and it will definitely be one the Butlers return
to.
-
-The Battle of Secessionville will be in less than
two weeks. Roughly 6 members of the Butler Guards plan to attend
Secessionville.
-
-The 1st and 2nd of December will be the Old South
Christmas in Abbeville. Many Butlers plan to attend, mainly to be
part of Dennis Crocker’s wedding at the Burke – Starr Mansion. Julia
Barnes will be the contact person for this event.
-
-The Christmas Party will be on Friday, November 30th.
The location: John and Sharon Vaughn’s home in Fork Shoals. Everyone
is asked to bring a dessert, a $10 dollar gift, and be there around 6:30.
Food will be catered.
-
-Zach and Tom have not heard any response from the
coordinators of Fort. McAlister in December, so the Butlers do not plan
to attend.
New Business:
-
-Jo Evans asked when the Palmetto Middle School Civil
War Day could be in 2008. The group decided it would take place on
Wednesday, January 16.
-
-Chase Heatherly is trying to get some members to attend
Palmetto High School’s AP US History Civil War Day on November 30th.
Currently, around 6 plan to attend.
-
-We will not be meeting in December, as we’ll be having
the Christmas party before the beginning of December. The January
meeting will have no changes in schedule.
-Meeting adjourned: 8:30 pm.
