-Old Business:
-Sharpsburg registration is now closed. The Palmetto Battalion
has close to 100 signed up to do the AP Hill March. There are now
only 3 battle scenarios, with the last very early Sunday morning, so those
who live a great distance can get a move on by 11:00. In addition,
there are Palmetto Battalion members who did not sign up but wish to attend,
so if you cannot go and have signed up, you can be replaced.
-Many Butlers would like to attend the event Ft. McAlister in Savannah the first weekend of December. It seems some of the best reenacting units are set to attend. This would be a great trip, and surely a learning experience for everyone. More information will come from Tom Fowler and Zach Morris as released.
-New Business:
-The Butlers decided not to attend Springwater Festival in Williamston.
A couple of Butlers plan to go to Allison Woods, which is scheduled for
the same weekend. However, with August being a busy month for younger
members, and with the extreme heat, the Butlers decided best not to make
the trip.

For the position of corporals, Tom Fowler nominated Jo Evans. Jo asked for discussion to be made, due to the fact that some reenactors do not wish for women to hold rank. She accepted the nomination. Zach Morris then nominated Dale Bartels and Jo Evans nominated Chase Heatherly, whom both declined. Chase Heatherly nominated Chuck Yeager for the position of corporal. Leo Lozano was voted, but there was a tie between Jo Evans and Brett Nix. A revote was taken. Leo Lozano and Jo Evans were elected as corporals of the Butler Guards.
-A Fourth grade teacher has approached Bobbi Killinger and has asked for reenactors to come in late winter and speak on hobby of reenacting. Will find out more info.
-Mike Barnes spoke on website. Would like for Unit to pay for half, but Tom nominated to pay for all of it, as it’s not right for the webmaster Julia Barnes to pay for the Butler Guards’ website. Motion passed unanimously. Treasurer Chase Heatherly will write a check to the Barnes for the annual cost.
-Meeting adjourned: 7:33.
